Kundalini Yoga & Meditation as taught by Yogi Bhajan
Kundalini yoga is called the yoga of awareness.
It is a practical tool for everyday people.
It’s accessible to everyone, regardless of age, gender, or body type.
It’s powerful, efficient, and effective.
It gives people the experience of connecting with their personal power, of having a clear mind and a wholeness of being.
Kundalini Yoga combines asanas (postures) with Pranayam (breath), meditation, mantra (sacred sound) and deep relaxation.
Kundalini Yoga is generally 90 mins and follows this structure

Who is Yogi Bhajan?
Yogi Bhajan was considered a master of Kundalini yoga at the early age of 16.
He brought Kundalini yoga to the West in 1968.
He taught over 8,000 classes and inspired thousands of people to keep up and live in their excellence.
What is a Kriya?
It is an action that leads to a complete manifestation like a seed leads to a bloom, a thought into actuality, a desire to commit.
In Kundalini yoga a kriya is a series of postures, breath, and sound that work toward a specific outcome.
There are kriyas that balance the glandular system, make you radiant, increase the flexibility of the spine, and much more.
What is Chanting?
“Man” means mind; “tra” means frequency.
Mantra is the use of sound to affect consciousness.
Chanting mantra produces specific vibratory frequency within the body.
The vibratory frequency of a mantra draws to you whatever you are vibrating.
You are like a magnet attracting vibrations to you by what you send out.
Mantra chanting is compatible with all belief systems.
What types of meditations are taught in Kundalini Yoga?
Mantra meditations and breathing meditations are the most common in Kundalini yoga.
Repeating a mantra helps to align the mind with one’s elementary vibration and supports cleansing the mind of its chatter.
Knowing how to use the breath in meditation can also direct the mind into stillness.
